Critchleys originated from a farming background where many Critchleys can still be found farming in Lancashire. Farming is a complex operation with many skills required to run the day to day management of the farm.

Moving from Preston to Merseyside in 1961, a successful Dairy herd was established. Then machinery was purchased over a period of time to manage the land for the growing dairy herd, and  in time this machinery  was utilised for outside contracting such as cutting over grown grass for councils in Liverpool to combining barley and wheat fields for neighbouring farmers.

With the skills to run the day to day operation of a farm like fencing repairing cattle sheds and gates, concreting posts and welding barriers to hold the cattle back passed down from generation to generation. It has now been diversified into Landscaping for the commercial and public sector.
